A Lewis & Clark graduate school education is built upon the values and practices associated with critical thinking, individual growth, and social justice. Our programs combine rigorous academic work with unparalleled hands-on and field-based experiences—students spend nearly 200,000 hours working in Portland-area schools and mental health agencies each year, beginning the first semester of study.

New Grant Supports Media Production at Community Counseling Center
Art Therapy Instructor Kris Bella led the art therapy program in writing a grant that was recently awarded through Mount Hood Cable Regulatory Commission for $71,000 that will supply equipment for the digital media lab at the Lewis & Clark Community Counseling Center. The program will use the funding to create an art therapy specific video to air on public access television.

Educational Leadership Professor Lisa Collins was invited to tour Ireland thanks to her environmental advocacy work. “Ireland is amazing in a way I did not expect. The oppression in the past mirrors what we experienced in the US. Learning the history from the people who love their land and community is heartwarming. What a dream!”

Mentoring the Next Generation of Minority Fellowship Scholars
Professional Mental Health Counseling, Addictions Professor Alexia de León mentored three PMHC-A students who received the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) addictions scholarship for $15,000 each. Professor de León has now mentored a total of 15 students to receive this scholarship to date.
